The Fellowship of Christian Athletes engages coaches and athletes to grow in their faith and sport.
I am excited to be on our Lake Oconee Area FCA team. Throughout my child and young adulthood, I was surrounded by sports. I cheered in middle and high school for football and basketball as well as managed the team for track and even attempted shotput. I was raised by two Godly parents who desired for me to seek out what my true talents and gifts are. After being in the classroom ten years, I was called out to serve with FCA! I am excited to be discipling and encouraging coaches and athletes with the gospel. My husband Luke and I have a son Wylie (3). We spend our time in our small garden and serving others. I am thrilled to be working alongside NEGA FCA and our ministry team. We are always looking for ways to grow the ministry in depth and pour into the lives of everyone in our community. God has lavished His grace over me and I am humbled that I would be allowed to take a small part in His marvelous plan of redeeming His people. I look forward to using my ministry as an overflow of my worship to the creator of the heavens and Earth, our great God! May EVERY Coach and EVERY Athlete in our community hear His name and of salvation through our local ministry.
I am so excited to join the Lake Oconee FCA team! I grew up in Indiana, living and breathing sports. From age three all the way through high school, most of my time was spent in the dance studio, at the ballpark, or on the basketball court. I even danced throughout college! My biggest passion is discipleship and helping others grow into a deeper relationship with Jesus. Over the last several years, I have had the opportunity to be a youth pastor, a worship leader, and a track coach. God has prepared and called me now to serve coaches and athletes with FCA! I have a husband named Eric and two dogs named Margo and Ruby. In my free time you can usually find me leading worship with my husband, hiking up a mountain with my dogs, or drinking coffee. I can't wait to see the way God continues to move in the lives of coaches and athletes!
What a thrill to be on the Lake Oconee FCA team! Athletics have been a large part of my life for as long as I can remember. Even as a boy I can remember wanting to be no place other than the ballfield. Throughout my high school career, it was no different. I was a 4-year letterman for the baseball team and a 3-year letterman for the football team. This even continued during my first 3 years at Piedmont College where I was a member of the baseball program. Athletics has played a huge role in molding my life and I am so thankful I will be able to aid in it molding the lives of young people and coaches in Jasper County. I am a proud 2003 graduate of Jasper County High School and a 2006 and a 2012 graduate of Piedmont College where I met the love of my life, and now wife, Mandi. We have 2 beautiful children, Harper (7) and Hutson (3). My goal with FCA is to see the gospel proclaimed in a mighty way and to see Christ move in this community. As a former coach I know the value of FCA playing a vital role in spiritual growth and I look forward to Christ doing mighty things through FCA in Jasper County.
I'm excited to be on our Lake Oconee Area FCA team! Throughout my younger years I was always surrounded by sports. Beginning at the young age of 5, I played football, basketball, baseball and track which I continued throughout my high school years. My parents always instilled Christ into me, and they always encouraged me to keep God first. I was a very active member in church from the choir and ushering. I married my high school sweetheart, LaMarion. We are blessed with three children: Jaden, Jada, and Jacere. We introduced sports into our children lives and that's when I decided to become a coach and a mentor! I always pray before and after a game to honor God. I believe that athletes saw me giving God the praised and this would allow them to do the same. I've been employed in the school system for 8 years. I have been coaching and mentoring children for 13 years. I became interested in FCA during the Fields of Faith event. I continue to allow God to order my footsteps, and I'm now a proud Field Ambassador for FCA! I believe that sports is a great physical example of the discipline and passion we should exhibit in our spiritual walk and I think through FCA we will make this happen!
Hey! My name is Davis Howell and I am a field ambassador for Greene County. My primary school of focus is currently LOA with focus also on Carson Middle and Greene County High School. I work full time as a youth pastor at Lakeside Church at Lake Oconee. I love Jesus and sports so a role with FCA made lots of sense for me. When I’m not working directly for the church or FCA I can usually be found at a sporting event or in the great outdoors.
